1963 Harley Earl Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

Built specifically for Earl as a one-of-a-kind factory special, the car - officially named the 1963 Harley Earl Chevrolet Corvette Convertible - offers a package unlike any other. 2009 Savage Rivale Roadyacht GTS

发表者 ddgg 5/28/09

Unveiled at the Top Marques show in Monaco, the company claims the Roadyacht is the only four-door, topless supercar in the world, and as far as we can tell, they're right. Based on the C6 Corvette, Bewerp's superconvertible is packing a supercharged LS7 V8 putting out 670 hp at 6,200 rpm and 538 lb-ft of torque at 4,800 rpm. Although Savage doesn't divulge what materials were used in the build, the performance specs – 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph – suggests a prodigious diet of aluminum and carbon fiber.

From a aesthetic standpoint, the eye of the beholder might be impaled by the designer's pen, but we'll admit it's original (save the Lambo doors) and looks decidedly more attractive when the folding hard-top clicks into place in a claimed 20 seconds. As previously reported, pricing is set at $340,000 and the first example is currently being build.

Press Release

The Savage Rivale Roadyacht GTS is the only 4 door "topless on demand" supercar in the world.

The experience of driving with the wind rushing over, the engine roaring and the glass top, dropping within 20 seconds.

With its yacht-inspired interior wrapped around the brutal V8 pulling you from 0-300 kph (0-186 mph) in less than 35 seconds.

The Savage is a celebration to design. The design is derived from driving a car as an emotional sensation.

It includes the signatures of two revolutionaries. A conflicting and revolutionary balanced design emphasizes the "bad boy" character.

The aggressive cut front shows its primeval powers. The wide muscular rear end shows inviolable trust and leaves everyone behind.

A very high standard of finishing with exaggerated details shows its a true superlative.

Citroen DS Inside concept

While there is no detailed information and the interior only appears during the second half of the video clip, the snippets are enough to show how upmarket and sporty the little car is going to be. The DS3 is expected to come into market in 2010 as the first of new DS Line products which include the bigger DS4 and DS5 models.

Citroen DS Inside concept

Speaking of the DS3, we saw the DS Inside Concept in Geneva this year and it had dark tinted windows all around. No one was able to take a peek to see what was inside. Luckily this video and the accompanying pictures will now allow for an interior sightseeing mini tour of the production version they call the DS3.

Citroen DS Inside concept

If Citroen's DS line is any indicator then we are in for a very exciting new era of premium mass cars. A famous example is the ever-green but expensive MINI which sold over 230,000 units in 2008. Should Citroen price their compact DS models like the DS3 well below the MINI then we could see an upsurge in sales and profits for the French automaker.

Detailed Lego Cars

发表者 ddgg 5/26/09

Lego Technic sets were always a bit out of reach for our patience level, so we stuck with plain bricks. So did this super-talented Lego Maniac for his amazingly detailed Lego cars.

By his own admission, having played with Legos since he started eating cereal, he is now proficient enough with the regular blocks – not the specialized sets – to create all manner of realistic vehicles and interiors. His work speaks for itself, so have a look at the gallery below to see what passion can do with a set of Legos.

Picking up his first Lego set when he was a kid, Firas Abu-Jaber has harnessed the very talented skill of building as-realistic-as-they-can-be four-wheeled Lego creations.

While most Lego car builders we've seen in the past focus primarily on the exterior, Firas has chosen to cover all aspects, from the engine bay to the interior, with impeccable detail and care.

To kick off the launch of the 308 CC, French carmaker Peugeot has enlisted the musical services of the high-heeled female string quartet Bond. Peugeot touts the car as "the only convertible in its class that is adaptable to every season" because of its Airwave Neck Heating System, à la Mercedes-Benz's Air Scarf on the SL Series.

To complement this notion, Bond's services have been retained to record its take on the four concertos that make up Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Think Vivaldi-meets-Ibiza, and you're pretty close. Bond will be begin to leg out a British tour with the car next month, so for now you can read the full press release and watch the video after the jump. Or you can download all of the tracks – after handing over some information and signing up for a newsletter – at opentoallseasons.co

PRESS RELEASE

Peugeot is delighted to announce that, to celebrate the launch of its brand new 308 Coupé Cabriolet – the convertible for all seasons - it has commissioned BOND, the all-female multi-million selling original electric string quartet, to write and record a new arrangement of classical music's most popular work – the Four Seasons. The recording is available exclusively through Peugeot's website.

An innovative move, this unorthodox release (four tracks; one representing each of the seasons) makes Peugeot the first car manufacturer to record and release a mini-album exclusively for free download.

The modern interpretation of the Baroque masterpiece has been recorded to mark the launch of the Peugeot 308 CC model - an innovative addition to the Peugeot family with a first-in-its class Airwave Neck Heating System that blows air around the neck, allowing the driver the pleasure of enjoying a convertible all year round.

In lending their genre-defying sound to Vivaldi's Four Seasons, the Bond girls were inspired by their good friend and colleague, Nigel Kennedy. Says viola player, Tania: "We were so happy to be invited by Peugeot to record our take on the Four Seasons. This is our own celebration of one of the greatest and most exciting pieces of music and which all string players adore performing." This also marks the first time Bond unveils its new member, violinist Elspeth Hanson. Elspeth was chosen from hundreds of musicians and is the beautiful and hugely talented violinist who played alongside David Beckham; guitar legend, Jimmy Page and Leona Lewis at last year's handover to Britain at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.

British-based Bond (Eos Chater, violin; Elspeth Hanson, violin; Gay-Yee Westerhoff, cello, and Tania Davis, viola) will be staging a string of free live performances as they accompany the Peugeot 308 CC road-show throughout the country (dates include Glasgow, Birmingham and Newcastle). Free of charge to the public, the events promise to live up to Bond's vibrant reputation for delivering its spectacular musical and visual performance.

The launch of the 308 CC brings something new and exciting to the Peugeot portfolio and with its low sporty profile it is the must-have buy of the year for style enthusiasts. The car's four full-size seats capitalise on the renowned strength of the existing 308 range, whilst still embodying the spirit of the highly acclaimed 307 Coupé Cabriolet. But only with the launch of 308 CC can a convertible be enjoyed whatever the weather, as the car's inbuilt air vent diffuses warm air around the occupant's neck - making the Peugeot 308 CC the only convertible in its class that is adaptable to every season.

Monaco. Indy. Reno. Sure, the first two have fancy TV coverage and all kinds of history working in their favor this weekend, but Reno has LeMons, hilarious cars, and Damon on the ground covering the events as they happen via Twitter. He's posting photos and video with his updates, which you can (and should) follow at twitter

Special thanks go out to Autoblog reader Dat Nguyen, who headed to Reno specifically because we saw that we were there. Dat caught up with Damon and then cemented his status in the Autoblog Reader Hall of Fame by taking some great photos for us, a sampling of which you can look at in the gallery below. He's got even more posted up at his Flickr account, which you should absolutely check out as well.

So, big ups to Dat, and to Damon for tweeting away feverishly to keep us appraised of the ongoing wheeled mayhem. Watch for more updates from Damon today after he gets up and addresses some issues we're sure he'll be dealing with before the festivities in Reno get back underway.
